Mewracle: A Space Curated For Experience

Another 3 months had passed and it's time for a brand new Mewracle theme! Here at mewmovement we dedicated a space for art installations, every theme is made from scratch, mainly crafted out of cardboard and carefully painted, every inch is designed and built by hand with minimum budget. This time we wondered how an airport would look like with crazy pop colours, and if it is possible to capture the vibe of an airport without the presence of airplanes.

Mewracle Hunter

Every Mewracle comes with an exclusive stamp to be collected, it is made to encourage and reward return customer who dropped by every time we have a new installation. It is called Mewracle Hunter and if you have visited and collected 4 different stamps you would get a cash voucher, and it is free to join. 

Coming Up With Airport

It got us thinking, how can we make stamping the main highlight or at least a big part of our Mewracle, to make the space more interactive and fun? And that is how we connect the dots between airport immigration counter and our little art installation. Before everything starts to go digital people used to collect stamps from different countries in their passport as token, this was my favourite part of the long dreadful hours at the airport. 

We had 2 options. First one is to build the interior of an airplane, like it was cut in half sideways, with an aisle of chairs and windows full of clouds, but that was too crazy even for us so we went for option number 2. The arrival and departure hall of an airport was easier to build in comparison, there is a lot of iconic airport pieces like the luggage conveyor belt, the bag and human scanner and of course the immigration counter, the only issue is to build all of them out of cardboard.

Experience

Airport is a place where different culture meet, people with different background and stories visit it with different intentions: some to explore new places, some ready for a new life, some are there to say goodbye. One thing they all have in common is that things are going to change, their current routine will no longer serve them, there is going to be risks and challenges, and so much unknown is out there waiting for them, but the memories and experience they are going to gain from being brave and stepping out of their comfort will outshine the pain, with new experience comes new opportunity to learn, new ideas will start to sprout, and they will grow into a brand new but better person. So the question is are you ready for it?
